I’ll be taking a long walk to rid myself of the last of jet lag. I find walking and sunlight are the best antidotes! I’m an early riser anyway, so waking up at 4 AM won’t affect me too much. It’s quiet here. We saw our gang Friday and yesterday, and my mother’s just back from visiting her brother (my Uncle John) in San Diego.

I’m writing today, working on THAT NIGHT ON THISTLE LANE (due out early next year). I hear from readers who’d like me to write faster. I love that! I give each book a hundred-percent and I do admit that some days I’d like to clone myself because I have so many ideas and interests. I’m enjoying being back in my fictional town in the Swift River Valley. We’ll see what happens next.

As a reader, I have many authors whose books I can’t wait to get my hands on, even if circumstances keep it in my “to be read” pile for a while. Some authors are very prolific (more than two books a year) and some aren’t as prolific (less than one book a year). What about you? Does it matter to you as a reader whether an author is highly prolific or not?

And to be so grateful that love has made our life more fulfilling.

The expression of love takes many forms today. For most, it’s cards, candy and flowers and perhaps a romance novel to make the day even more special.

My own day started by being featured–along with other authors–in today’s edition of USA TODAY. I discuss how romance novels enhance a loving relationship. You can read more here.

Long and Short Reviews also interviewed me and I’m describing my love of Massachusetts, the Swift River and history of the Quabbin Reservoir. Yes, yet another form of love, my own personal history. Just chatted with Irene on “Mighty Mess” in Oak Grove, LA, and with Kathy in Indianapolis — from my office on my hilltop in Vermont. I love going on the road but it’s fun to talk to people in different parts of the country while I watch the snow fall on our hilltop! My interviews are listed on my website calendar if you’re curious.

Meanwhile, I’ve been thinking about places I’d like to visit. In SECRETS OF THE LOST SUMMER, Olivia is nervous about flying, and her sister wants to go to Paris and her mother wants to drive the California Pacific Coast Highway…but will they? Are there places you dream of visiting? I’m thinking Paris would be nice. ;-)
